Vintage 1940s Silver Plate Floral Vinaigrette Brooch - 1920s
This beautiful silver vinaigrette brooch is truly a remnant from our past. Decorated with a wreath of flowers intertwined with leaves in silver plated metal. The flowers encircle a scent locket or vinaigrette compartment topped with a molded blue lucite plastic flower which lifts to reveal the compartment where a bit of scented cotton could be placed. Additionally, the brooch has a foldover brass bail to be worn on a chain as a pendant, and has enough room under the pin stem to be worn on a wide collar as shown. Incredibly lovely is this brooch! Measures 2 1/4 in diameter. Very good condition. The vinaigrette lid slides a bit but is secure and snaps closed tightly. Circa 1940s.
