Large Blue Glass Scarab Bracelet - Vintage 1940s

Scarab bracelets were all the rage in the 1940s - 1950s, being inspired by the discovery of the treasures of King Tuts tomb. The Egyptian symbol of rebirth and regeneration, the scarab has been a treasured amulet since ancient times. In the 20th c. it was worn for good luck. This beautiful bracelet is set with six large molded glass scarab stones in cobalt blue. The open back settings show the hieroglyphs on the back of the glass scarabs. The bracelet is secured by a foldover clasp, with a safety chain with spring ring clasp. The scarabs measure approximately 17.5mm x 12.5mm x 7.5mm. The bracelet measures 7.25 in length x .5 in width. Good condition. Circa 1940s.
