RESERVED: Sharon Schaffner Sterling Silver Mixed Metal Abstract Face Pendant Necklace
Item: 1466
This Modernist Abstract pendant necklace is one of the most unique Ive ever offered. While the minimalist design aspect allows for multiple interpretations, my sense is that this is Jesus on the cross. The sterling silver long oval face is adorned with a crown with an amethyst cabochon. Amethyst is symbolic of royalty. The cross (or perhaps arms and body of a king or queen) are made of brass and set with agate and hematite beads. The back of the face is signed sterling in script, and signed by the artist, Sharon Schaffner.
Colorado metalist, Susan Schaffner has been creating jewelry for more than 30 years. Her "Faces" series is inspired by the faces she has met in her world travels. Intuition is her guiding artistic force. All of her pendants are one of a kind. Her pieces are sold primarily in art galleries as wearable art.
The pendant measures 2.25" x 1.25". It is suspended on a sterling silver snake chain measuring 18" in length.
Very good condition.
