Victorian Gold Filled Lion Bangle Bracelet - Vintage 1890s

Stunning and hard to find, this antique Victorian gold filled lion bangle is majestic in design, fashion, and rarity! The top of the bangle that frames the lions head measures 1 3/8 across, and the back of the bangle measures 3/4 in width. The beautifully detailed lion head has red paste eyes and a synthetic, man made ruby in his mouth. These stones appear to be original to the piece. Nine round clear rhinestones frame each side of the lion. Some of the rhinestones are darkened and one appears to have been replaced. The bangle is further embellished with floral swags and fleur de lis ornamentation. The bangle is a large size so if you have a bigger wrist this piece should be very comfortable. The inside of the bangle bracelet measures 2 1/2 x 2 1/4. The clasp is tight and in working order. Some wear to the gold fill around the inside hinge. Some denting as would be expected with a bangle this old. Good condition otherwise. Circa 1890s.
