Vintage Afghan Lapis Lazuli Tribal Necklace

This fine example of ethnic jewelry is from the hands of Afghani artisans. Bezel set with navette and teardrop shaped lapis lazuli the flexible fringe has a drop of 2 1/2". The lapis is a royal blue with gold streaking. The necklace is strung with brass rondells and completed with wooden beads. The necklace is 16 1/2" long and is secured by a toggle clasp. Exact age is unknown but judging the from the estate it came out of, it is at least 40 years old.
